Our Approach
A complete circle of care
People who are facing decisions and issues surrounding the end of life can feel overwhelmed. Our approach is to offer a continuum of every professional resource needed to bring the highest levels of care and compassion to every patient and family we serve. This includes a complete range of Palliative and Hospice care services, so that patients and families dealing with life-limiting illnesses have the support needed to reduce fear and anxiety and find strength and support. For families, it includes spiritual and bereavement counseling services before and after their loved ones death – including our unique Expressive Arts program for grieving children and teens.
Every Moment Matters
Keeping life meaningful
Living as fully as possible is the philosophy of care at the heart of our work, and we see hospice care as holistic. Controlling pain and symptoms must be balanced with addressing the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families. Quality of life for all those involved is what we seek to provide. By addressing the needs surrounding the end of life comprehensively, our patients and families have an unshakeable source of strength and support, and are able to die with dignity.
Keeping Hospice care accessible
Center for Hospice Care is a nonprofit organization.
We receive Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance reimbursement.
We participate in most managed care plans offered in Connecticut.
Because 3rd party reimbursement covers only part of the cost of hospice care and bereavement counseling, we rely on community support, including donations, grants, fundraising events and memorials.
