The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation awarded a $20,000 check to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut to furnish the Expressive Arts Room in the new administrative office & community bereavement center.
“The Foundation Board saw an opportunity to make a significant impact on the broadest cross-section of our community. The reality of a safe, caring place where bereaved children could come to work through their grief struck the entire board as duly worthy of an amount that would ensure the completion of this great space,” stated Marc Bokoff, Board Chair of The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation.
Carol L. Mahier, RN, MSN, Executive Director Hospice Southeastern Connecticut thanked the Chamber Board for their generous gift. “The Chambers support will provide for a unique, wonderful space for children and teenagers.”
Expressive Arts for Children and Teenagers is made possible through a grant from the William T. Christopher Fund for Children’s Health and L&M Hospital.
