Annual Walk
– May 10, Mohegan Park, Norwich, CT

On May 10, 2008, over 300 people participated in the 2008 Hospice Southeastern Connecticut Walk.  Many walked in memory of a loved one.  The rain held off, making for a wonderful day for a brisk walk around Spaulding Pond at beautiful Mohegan Park in Norwich, Connecticut.

Jim Reed, morning host for KOOL FM 101, was the Honorary Chairperson and Master of Ceremonies.  Before the walk, participants welcomed hot coffee and donuts given by Tim Horton's Norwich.  Norwich Free Academy student, Margaret Cronin, sang the National Anthem, and other NFA students provided face painting and refreshments.  Pine Point School students created flowers and provided the latticework for a beautiful Memory Board.  Beit Brothers Supermarkets provided a delicious hot dog lunch, with KOOL FM 101 providing water and other beverages.  Little People LLC donated signs along the route.

Over $40,000 was raised which allows Hospice Southeastern Connecticut to continue giving the finest care to those facing the end of their life due to terminal illness.  Hospice Southeastern Connecticut thanks all those who participated and who donated.
