Hospice Southeastern Connecticut Exceeds its Goal and Raises Over $55,000 at Walk 2011
Norwich, CT (May 14, 2011) – Hospice Southeastern Connecticut held its 16th annual Walk-a-Thon in Norwich’s Mohegan Park on Saturday May 14th, 2011. More than 400 people took part in this year’s event to memorialize loved ones and to raise funds for Hospice SE CT. Due to the hard work and generosity of the participants; Hospice SE CT exceeded its goal and raised over $55,000.
The funds raised through the Hospice SE CT Walk 2011 will help provide programs that enhance quality of life for terminally ill patients and support families including bereavement care which is open to anyone in southeastern Connecticut. All monies raised, stay in southeastern Connecticut helping our families, friends and neighbors. Events such as the Walk provide approximately ten percent of the funds used by Hospice SE CT annually and allow the agency to provide care to patients and families regardless of their illness or inability to pay.
Hospice Southeastern Connecticut warmly thanks all of the participants who took part in Walk 2011 and who shared their stories and fellowship with each other. Coming together for Walk 2011 can be a healing experience for those who have suffered loss.
