Third Annual Mudhead Rum Tasting Benefits Hospice Southeastern Connecticut

Norwich, CT (May 6, 2011) – Hospice Southeastern Connecticut was the beneficiary of the Mystic River Mudheads Racing Association’s third annual Rum Tasting on Friday, May 6, 2011.

The event, which raised over $4,000, was held at the Mystic Arts Center where Hospice SE CT supporters were treated to several fine rums to taste and compare. Proceeds from ticket sales and silent auction items will provide funds that enable Hospice SE CT to provide programs that enhance quality of life for terminally ill patients and support families during bereavement care which is available without charge to anyone in southeastern Connecticut. All monies raised stay in Southeastern Connecticut helping our families, friends and neighbors. Events such as the Rum Tasting provide approximately ten percent of the funds used by Hospice SE CT annually. This allows the agency to provide care to patients and families regardless of their illness or inability to pay.

Hospice SE CT offers its sincere thanks to the Mystic River Mudheads and all who attended, volunteered or donated time and items to make this event a success. Thank you for helping Hospice SE CT to help patients and families in need of hospice care in New London County.

Hospice SE CT now turns its sights to the Hospice Walk Saturday, May 14th and the Regatta Series on July 13th and 16th.
