Hospice Funding

Hospice Southeastern Connecticut has been available in the home to anyone in need of end-of-life care regardless of a person's age, disease or financial status. We are also able in many cases to provide hospice care in Skilled Nursing Facilities. We receive Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance and participate in most managed care plans offered in Connecticut. Third party reimbursement covers only part of the costs of hospice care. In addition, so many of the essential services provided by hospice including bereavement and volunteer support are not reimbursed by many insurance plans. Each year we must fund-raise over 20 percent of our total revenues in order to sustain the program.

As a non-profit organization, we rely heavily on donations, grants, fundraising events and memorials. Many of our families find that leaving memorial gifts to hospice is a positive and comforting way to make a difference. By designating that donations are directed to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, other patients and families benefit from our care and service. Some families choose to donate a living gift acknowledging a birthday, anniversary, bar mitzvah, graduation or special holiday.

All gifts to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut are greatly appreciated and help us to provide quality care to those approaching the end of their lives.

To make a donation to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, please contact our office by mail, telephone or e-mail or go to the "Donations" link above to donate directly online. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM.
